Well, obviously if you do the math, those that earn more will end up paying proportionately more tax, BUT...because they earn more should they pay higher percentages than everybody else, or just their fair share? I have never believed in penalizing higher earners, since such measures fly in the face of capitalism and free enterprise. I would support a uniform tax structure. One of the problems I have always had with a Democratic government (and Kerry has wasted no time assuring me that he will crank up taxes), is that they champion public support for their agendas to tax the rich disproportionately to fund government programs. And they always seem to concoct lots of "programs", and in so doing create more "government". The masses are resentful of those that earn more than they do, so the reaction is "rah, rah let's tax the rich bastards and have them pay for it all". On the other hand, I do not support "tax breaks" for big industry, and this "look the other way" tactic, always seems to go hand in hand with a Republican administration. Is there any middle ground?
