Y'know Ed...I can only take Sinatra in low doses, and I think a lot has to do with over-exposure. It seems every bistro, bar, Italian restaurant, plays Sinatra to make it sound American-Italian, whatever, and the very sound of that man's voice now makes me cringe.
I do have one wonderful recording of him with Tommy Dorsey's orchestra in his early days that I do like very much, but anything that he did with the louder horn blowing bands, and especially the song New York, New York, makes me wanna run and hide.
