I'm going to open myself up to a lot of slings and arrows at this point and propose a hypothesis in the face of DB's question as to what folks LIKE about the current administration.
Team spirit.
I find myself turning my pig nose up at Republicans because they are Republicans and having the initial reaction to lean left...because that's the team that is closest to my personal values. I wonder if given a human's predisposition to the need for BELONGING, they hook into a certain team ideology and stick with it no matter what. But age and experience is teaching me to keep my damn mouth shut more and look at the whole picture before I start leaning left or right.
With my 20/20 hindsight, if it were Al Gore doing the SAME THINGS, I'd not reconsider my party affiliation but I certainly would NOT vote for him again. Who's to say...is it the man or the circumstances that has brought about this behavior. Even moreso, is it the "MAN'S" choices of advisors, upbringing and experiences that cause such buffoonery.
I think Howard Dean opened up a window into his motivations a bit yesterday when he said, "People are tired of Democrats who don't look like Democrats." Well, thanks Howie. If just being "not-George W. Bush" is a good enough platform, then you're still not gaining my confidence.
I'd better stop writing on this board...I have a meeting in 20 mins.
