I could live with a Kerry Clark combo. Or Clark Kerry, or
Dean Clark, or Clark Dean, or Kerry Edwards... Any
combo that consists of, on one hand, a good domestic
policy and economy type, (Dean, Gephardt, Edwards,
Kerry) and on the other, a proven international coalition-
builder type (Clark or Kerry) gets my vote. Also be good
if one of them could be a Southerner. Kerry's got the
whole Heinz/Yale/Skull and Bones thing for better or
worse, and Clark's got the backing of the Clinton machine
or what's left of it. On the other hand Dean is a Northerner
with an entirely new kind of power base... I actually think
the tight race in Iowa is less a sign of weakness for the
Democrats than a sign of a pretty deep field, and theyre
all raising money. Whoever wins the nomination, all the
candidates owe their wholehearted support to the
nominee. This country's being driven by drunks on a
spree, and it's time to pull over.
