Most of the stuff there, the whole thing in fact has been well covered (I think it's a popular e-mail that's been circulating) but I have a question on one item.

All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view.

Now here's my question...is the above statement correct? Because our good pal Joe Lieberman brought this issue up during one of the recent Democrat debates because all of Dean's records for his tenure as governor of Vermont are sealed and unavailable for public view. Now, Joe was, of course, continuing the attack on Dean (the Dems hate this guy I'm telling you) but he also pointed out to Dean in the exchange that Bush's records as governer were not in fact sealed and had been made available for public view. So, one of these stories is either not true, or the records were available and now are not any longer. For the record Dean's response was it was common practice to seal the records to protect people whose input to the governor was meant to be confidential. Dean said he had turned the records over to a judge who could go through them and that the judge could release anything he wished. Ol' Joe of course said this was unacceptable and had in his hand a pen and a document that he asked Dean to sign that he claimed would authorize the release of the Dean records. Pretty cheap and disgusting grandstanding by our boy Joe if you ask me. Dean of course declined.
