Really GA, I'm glad you are showing an interest at this point and I'm happy that you are a supporter of the ACLU. It is after all an agency that comes under fire a lot and to see a conservative that supports their work is refreshing. So, no...I don't want you to tell people to bugger off.
Since you're into this here's the offending paragraph from Bob Novak's article:
Wilson never worked for the CIA, but his wife, Valerie Plame, is an Agency operative on weapons of mass destruction. Two senior administration officials told me Wilson's wife suggested sending him to Niger to investigate the Italian report. The CIA says its counter-proliferation officials selected Wilson and asked his wife to contact him. "I will not answer any question about my wife," Wilson told me."

The whole crux of this matter seems to center around the source that Novak used for his story.
I would think it would not be too difficult to find the two buffoons who thought it wise discuss Joe Wilson's wife with a reporter. As a matter of fact reporters generally establish regular contacts that they use again and again so I'm sure these two "senior administration officials" have lit up the phone lines or e-mail on several occasions to discuss things with Bob. There is sure to be enough evidence to indicate who they were even if administration officials would prefer to stonewall the matter. I'm gonna guess that it won't require locking Bobby up to sweat him but if they do the ACLU better get off their ass and do what they are supposed to. My opinion is they probably would if it came to that.
I have not heard a thing about Novak or what kind of help he is getting, and I think it is a relevant question.
I think the reason for this is they may already have enough that Novak does not have to be the center of this little circus. So, they probably aren't that heavy on Bobby right now. In the end, it's not Bobby they want...it's the guys the committed the crime and I would guess they are well aware of all the issues that involve sweating a well known conservative reporter. So, I think they are chasing down the bad guys and Bobby is not so important to them.
This is not interesting?
I don't find it as interesting as members of the current adminstration committing a federal felony. We've seen the case of reporter protecting his or her sources many times already and there's no doubt whose side we all fall on in a case like that. It is a much larger story to have the "two senior administration officials" giving up our CIA operatives...which has a direct effect on little things like National Security, the relationship between the CIA and the current administration, how Bush administration looks to the intelligence community world wide when we say we want to fight terror and then give up our own operatives that are supposedly doing just that...in the field of Weapons of Mass Destruction no less...kinda seems if we'll give up our own some other countries operatives that may or may not cooperate with us mean even less.
So, yeah...we've got this huge story and you want to talk about the ACLU defending Bob Novak...ok...I'm talking about it with you...anything else?
