That will certainly make for an interesting battle. Wonder whose side the ACLU would take on that one?
I just read your complaints that no one addressed this remark and to start with this is the first chance I've had to do so. Second, in reading the comment to me it seems less a question than sort of another shot at the ACLU and it seemed to me to be just you trying to deflect the fact that someone inside Bushco committed a federal felony. Instead you'd like to take shots at the ACLU. This seems a rather minor point and far flung the central issue but since it means so much to you here's what I think...
I would hope the ACLU acts in a manner consistant with what they are supposed to represent. I don't have any problem if you'd like to bash the ACLU as in my opinion they have quite a bit they could and should be doing that they are not. They do seem to waste time and energy on issues that seem to have little overall impact except to generate more arguments. The last point I would have is the ACLU has been marginalized in the mind of the general public and you could go on and on about who is to blame for that...but you really think how the ACLU reacts to what takes place is a larger issue than a crime being committed by members of the Bush Administration?
My feeling is the vast majority could care less about what the ACLU says and they will have a far greater interest in the crime that was committed.
It's interesting that you have such an interest in the ACLU at this point. Could a Republican be wishing for the ACLU to jump in and defend one of his righty brothers? Basically this to me just comes across as you grasping for straws...and really it seemed you were just "wondering" to yourself.
