Here's another one:

It's a stunning thing that Republicans could put Donald Trump forward as their candidate for president after this insane disgrace, which they all knew January 6th was in that moment. This day went way beyond proving he was unfit for office, he took his shot at ending this country...which was why some people voted for him. So, I guess they got what they asked for.

I don't really know who steps into the gap when he's gone. I think the Trump family believes, at this moment, that the Republican party is one of their belongings, to do with as they wish. So, I suppose they feel they have the right to decide who that is and if they think it will be Eric or Don Jr. I think they are very mistaken. Ivanka appears to be running away from her father's horrid legacy, so not likely to be her.

The Republican landscape is littered with bodies of people that thought they might be the next Trump but none of them are any good nor do they generate big support. Nikki Haley is really the only person that came close to making a dent and she was running as a option to Trump, not to be what he is.

I think that party faces a reckoning when Trump loses. They will then have to admit following him was not the way to go and it just led to losing. What Trump offered his supporters was anger, fear, division, hatred, racism, lawlessness, bigotry, and destruction of the country. No other politician offers them these things in quite the way he did, which was proudly and without shame. Some of them get a thrill out of this, to be so out in the open while doing horrid things, but you can see in their eyes, they know what they are doing is disgusting and wrong. It seems even Marge Greene has limits, which I never thought I would say.

Trump is boldly destructive, full of hate, he has zero shame. I think even some of his worst followers actually feel shame. Michael Cohen, Anthony Scaramucci, people like this that learned the hard way, have shown their remorse and that they feel shame. There is a list of these people as well.

So, the Republicans will need to figure out which way to go. They will do so while still being strongarmed by the Trump family, and will need to show some courage in standing up to them, something they have shown no sign they have but somebody will just based on the fact there will be no choice.

I don't know if there will be another Trump, he is unique in his willingness to be vile and it is his absolute boldness in doing so that gives him his charisma that attracts fans.

I still hear the words of that Trump supporter that said to me back in 2016, "He's the only one that will do it, that will destroy everything." and it was the first time I realized why some of these people supported him. The destruction, the, as I think Marc used to say, willingness to throw the grenade, no matter who it hurt or killed.

There are other leaders like this, sure, Netanyahu has proven himself to be one. He will kill whomever he needs to, whomever gets in the way of his goals, man, woman, child and claim he is justified in doing so. He does not care how many of his own people may die along the way. Everybody is expendable, you just keep killing.

I'm not sure there is a person, that we know of right now, in the Republican party that has that kind of brutal insanity bug outside of Trump. Sure, some of his minions do, but they are not front man material, they function only in his coattails. Only he could drive his followers so mad and get them to believe any nonsense he says. He's at the point now where he does not even try to hide any of how stupid or insane it is, he knows he can say anything and likely several million people swallow it whole.

What a road we've gone down as a people and as a country. What a path we've led the entire world down. While there have always been dictators and madmen fully willing to practice their cruelty on people, I don't think we've every really sat at a precipice where so much destruction could be so easily wrought.

It's been like a bad dream you can't wake up from. I think we are ready to wake up though, to show this is not what we want for our country, for the future of our children. We are about to show the world we are done with this. Yes, it won't be totally over, there will be the maniacs that lose it when they see their dear leader exposed as the fraud and charlatan he is, and that will probably cost a few more lives but in the end, I think and hope for us all, sanity returns.
