I know they have to want to help themselves and I am, have been, dealing with an extreme case. I'm talking a guy that drinks a couple gallons (two of the 1.75 liter bottles) of vodka a day and supplements that with pints he carries around. Quite honestly, it is hard to believe the kind of abuse the human body can take and still continue to function. You would think this is medically impossible. 

I've had him in rehab, a dozen times. Walks out and drinks the same day every time. I've sectioned him which was more than useless. I'm just at a loss. I don't expect a magic bullet but I know this is a common problem and people have beaten it. I've spent a lot of time hanging out with recovered alcoholics and addicts and talking with them about how they got there. Many extreme cases, like the one I am dealing with. 

I'll take any advice or thoughts anybody has as welcome. I know we talk a lot of politics here, but this is what is eating me alive the last five years. This guy has a beautiful 7 year old daughter, it is breaking me. I do believe wet brain is coming into play. Really kind of lost at this point.
