I see your point, Reg, and I really admire your commitment to reason and understanding, but to me, if someone is sentient enough to compose a paragraph and search things on a computer and they still choose, in the face of all glaring evidence to the contrary, to inhabit this fictional universe— this Fox, et al information silo, it's because they want to. Because it resonates with them, like a tuning fork. For whatever psycho/bio/socio-anthropological reason that's the melody their body trembles to. And that I think says very bad things about a person's character. If you're having a conversation with somebody and you continually have to ask yourself if they're a well-meaning dupe or a scripted con man, is that a conversation that you want to be having?
