One of the things that I've seen since 2015 is the breaking up of families and long time friendships over trump and what from the outside appears to be almost like a cult-like adherence to what he says and does. I have a friend who has been rejected by her father and 2 sisters because she does not share their enthusiasm for the former president. Although not by any stretch of the imagination was it the primary cause, my ex-husband's continuing support of him contributed greatly to the break up of our 3 decade+ marriage. My aunts will not communicate with me much any more because I don't share their enthusiasm for Trump. Stories like these are repeated everywhere and it is so very sad but also is indicative of something more than just being on opposite sides of the political fence where we were before the infamous ride down the elevator. It's almost as if we are on 2 different planets.
