The problem as I see it, is the definition of Insurrection in the public mind. The media and general public are focused on the Magat's and the destruction/rioting, which really was not the insurrection. The true insurrection was the fake electors plot, hatched in the White House, various State Houses and Legislatures, and in the national Congress through the various votes against certification. It's really not hard to wrap your head around, but the media need blood and violence to generate revenue so we get another shiny object thrown across our field of vision.
