...to be an independent, it would be fantastic. It would lock Trump and Republicans both into a loss. He would basically just take about a third or more of Republican voters with him, so both he and Republicans would not have enough votes to win. I would love to see that but my guess is Trump has been told that if he goes independent both he and a Republican candidate would lose.
I would love to see it but likely not going to happen. Trump's final Hail Mary would be a Republican becoming president and giving him a pardon to eliminate the federal charges against him. If he goes off on his own, that is probably not going to happen.
