Icon David's comment on the Joint Chiefs and why we need Biden...

So, no worries on not knowing about our military situation here, Mick. It's as sloppy as everything else right now. Basically, what David is referring to is we have this one Republican senator that has held up the promotions at the top of our military leadership pyramid because he does not like that those serving in our military have access to abortion care. It's that dumb and simple. So, we have essentially a headless military because of one moron and his ridiculous position on abortion. Meaning, the people that are supposed to be advising Biden in times like this, well, those positions are basically vacant. Or one person is being forced to do the job of several.

Obviously in a time where we have a war that has been going on way too long in Ukraine and now war between Israel and Hamas it is a danger to the entire world to have the idiot Tommy Tuberville (a fucking football coach) chopping off the head of our military. Not something you really need to delve into but this is what is happening here.

To be honest with you, my respect for Biden grows daily. He has done more for the American people in less than one term than most presidents do in two. It takes a huge amount of not paying attention by our voters here not to understand the guy has done an amazing job.

Honestly, I was lukewarm on him but with all the Republican insanity that just never stopped when Trump lost, he has been amazing. I could go into all that but it would be paragraphs because of how much he has accomplished. If he stays healthy and does get a second term, he may go down as one of the greatest American presidents.

Oddly, my father was a long time supporter of Joe Biden. He met him on a few occasions many years ago. He would say to me every now and then "Reg, the guy we need for president is Joe Biden." and I, honestly would reply, "Seriously, dad?" because I just thought of Biden as Joe Boring, the most vanilla and middle of the road politician you could pick.

Turns out, my father appears to have been right. Biden's administration has overseen job creation at an astounding clip, overseen raising wages, got the biggest infrastructure deal done in many decades, battled inflation (keeping it lower than other major countries), created a plan to cap and fix prescription drug costs, is dealing with now two wars, just got auto workers the best deal they have ever got by standing up for them and taking their side and the list goes on, while half our political establishment is losing their minds over nonexistent and/or stupid shit.

I will grant you, when he speaks what he says often seems like boilerplate politician talk, and he is very unlikely to waver from that, but somehow, he and his people have rolled up their sleeves and they are getting the job done.

Yeah, when he talks about what is going on with Israel and Hamas, he is locked in to previously made deals between Israel and the US but he is saying things, probably much louder behind closed doors, to try to prevent a slaughter there.

My point is, he is the lifeline to a better, more peaceful world, right now. It's a bit scary because the world is kind of hanging on what happens with an 80 year old guy but the truth is...he really is at this moment, the hope for the world.

I'm not asking you to like him, but I would not hold what Israel is doing against him as he is working with a moron blocking military promotions, an existing relationship with Israel and all the deals that came with it, and having to lead on several fronts, Israel, Ukraine, China, Taiwan, and the war to keep a democracy in the US while leading the country out of the hole Trump left it in...and 30% of the population hate the guy.

If ever there were a time to give a guy a break and wish him the best to get us out of all of these messes, well, this is it. So far, which has really impressed me, the old guy is doing it...really.
