As a longtime Massachusetts resident, I've voted for Kerry a couple of times. He's largely represented the state very well but lordy, when he's teetered his way onto the big stage, he's just a big disappointment in many ways--I agree about his Iraq vote. Still, I'd vote for a shetland pony with the runs before I'd vote for the boy president we have now. As for Dean, he's got to learn to learn not scan as one grade A megalomaniac (this could well be the M.D.--I've known a lot of M.D.'s who aren't exactly fond of the mammals they're treating). It would also help if he never smiled as it always comes off as forced and not just a little scary. As for the height issue, perhaps a 48 long would work if he simply stood on Mike Dukakis's shoulders. Mike seems to have a lot of free time lately. These are dark, dark days here in the Home of the Whopper. But I'm voting--early and often--for the one who is not Bush. Not that I believe that this will change much--oh, except for maybe keeping a few things legal like abortion and maybe keeping the thought police maybe 5 steps back instead of 2 steps. On a different matter, the new Warren Zevon is wonderful. They dying of the individual wrought deeply. It's in the vocalizing more than anything.
