I haven't heard it put that way, Peter. But thinking about it a little . . . I think you're right. It's absolutely that. And whereas fans of sports teams or similar generally realize that their thing is more "fun" that life-and-death, the problem with the Trump cult is that there are much bigger consequences to the normalization of that kind of "me first" (or "America first," which is really the same thing) behavior.
