We'll see what happens.  Precedent was set by the Republicans four years ago.  If they try to cram through an appointee this fall, they might succeed, but there will be secondary consequences.  Their hypocrisy will be unquestioned.  Of course, if they win the Presidential election, it becomes a moot point so what both the Democrats and anyone and everyone opposed to Donald Trump needs to do is get a really good mask . . . and go vote in person.  My oldest son turned 18 three weeks ago.  We're going together, and for early voting.  Obviously I'm not in the booth with him, and I'm not telling him how to vote, but on the case of "not for Trump" I've given him a really hard push.  Further, I've gotten a lot of materials from the local candidates so he can study that and also any ballot initiatives prior to voting.  I want him to not be intimidated by the process so we're going together.  He also signed up to be a student volunteer on voting day.
