and as we speak, Kent is reading all this and trying desperately to not jump back in...fingers itching, mind working at its usual frantic speed, mouth frothing with the foam of the righteous...yeah, he could be as obnoxious as, well, all of us at some time in our lives. but one thing that all those who actually made a difference in this world had in common was that they were, let's say, not always easy people to deal with. and it'll be blander here without him. he could stir up shit like no other and provoke people into revealing more of themselves than they otherwise would have. and that makes for a better message board overall.
well, whatever. hopefully he's now off finishing up books and other more lasting/farther influencing projects. and maybe if/when he returns we can have him fitted for a dimmer switch. :)
in the meantime, i saw the Hothouse Flowers last night at Slim's, and it was another amazing evening of musical church. i laughed, i cried, i got drunk, i danced, i bumped into people and stepped on toes and the friendly folks around me returned the favor and we all laughed about it. the band was killing it, all night. and Liam planted one on me at the end of the show, then my dates, then basically the whole front row; the show was that good. :) they're going up to Burning Man and playing there Thursday night. boy, are all my folks up there in for a treat.
