Consider me a 'journalist' reporting on how things were. I have no
desire to return to those times.Neither does Trump want a return to those times or to any time which sees
unity among US citizens. He is obsessed with division, his reelection
depends on it.What I am mainly concerned with is the vast economic chasm between the
rich and working class that was not there during the time on which I was
reporting.I object to fortunes that separate us so dramatically acquired by persons
who simply provided the next step in a series of steps made by others
since the beginning of our species. Who can be the richest has become a cynical game reflecting the
transition from simple satisfaction of providing for the future to pure
unadulterated greed.Too many people suffer, here and around the world, because the obsessed
few grow fearful that their billions could disappear into absolutely
unacceptable millions bordering on what they see as poverty.Too, I see nothing but good when one spouse is able to stay home with the
kids until those kids are given the nurture they require for a healthy
adolescence and productive adulthood.Trump isn't just a lousy president, he's a lousy human being who,
unfortunately. reflects a childhood with which he had little to do in
forming the adult he has become.
