One of the things that really troubles me is the growing lessening of the importance of all history. It seems to me, especially in the US, the entire gamut of history and its importance are losing its meaning each and every day. On top of that, it seems that the breadth and reach of history are shrinking. What I mean by that is, I think it is common in our current times to not look back in time very far at all and it seems like our collective memory only reaches as far back as our own generation and it is like the time before the present didn't really exist or matter. It is just so distressing....As for your reply....just think of how deep in the hole we would be if Trump were truly charismatic! His following is certainly most driven by fear, hate, and lust for power and dominion.
