As for the "you lied to us" bit, how in the hell could people have not seen before that the
reliance on emotional go-to issues was a smoke screen? Folks who fell for that ought to look
in the mirror and blame themselves less than the politicians, who wouldn't keep going to that
well if it didn't work.
