Rick Rubin's sound system? The guy who has had a hand in some of the worst and most heavily compressed recordings of all time? They guy who allowed the audio atrocity that was Californication to be released (I actually like the songs underneath the poor sound quality).

Rick Rubin's ONLY definable musical talent to to convince some artists to strip away a few layers and allow for a less cluttered sound. But he and whoever he's hired to do mastering (Weinberg, Vlad the Impaler, etc.) have ruined the audio on a great many otherwise good recordings. Despite his work with Johnny Cash, I see Rubin has have had a negative influence on the music of our time.
