Well, now that would certainly be an incendiary idea. Some problems with the current VZ govt:

1. What intellectuals? El pais tiene Maduro pero no es mas maduro en este momento.

2. Need to look beyond the USA for examples, but one thing for sure: they won't find a successful Communist/state-driven economy to the extent that they have their state controlling things.

3. What's going on now is a tragedy. It's approaching a total meltdown and much faster than I realized a few years ago. I'm hoping for a non-violent resolution but really have no idea at this point.

Capriles wants the Brazilian model (at least publicly). I've not idea what he could do if elected in April given that his party would not control the Congress, and a majority of the Supreme Court are Chavez appointees or loyalists. There's probably no way out until a portion of the Chavistas tire of things and his body is cold enough that those seeing clearly will start to push for a more moderate and inclusionary approach.

For starters, the state-owned companies have got to begin to hire on merit rather than political loyalty.
