Though I can't speak for him and never would try, I guess I can sort of figure out why DB rarely interjects here anymore when certain vapid people post idiotic remarks.

I think one thing those who have come here for a long time would all agree that the person we celebrate here is a person that does like a wide amount of intellectual thought and that often this thought is of a critical nature (that's critical in the philosophical meaning and not of the "criticism" nature).

Not only that, he has made it clear that he is very fond of Sean Penn and that he respects Sean Penn.

So what does someone here do? Insult Sean Penn and why? Most likely because Sean Penn liked a person that was not afraid to stick a thumb in the eye of America.
