I don't like this movement anymore than I liked what the Dems did in Texas when they left the state to avoid voting on redistricting.  Turnabout is fare play after all.

it's my understanding that the Reps were trying to redistrict, yes. which happens once a decade, and it had already happened...but the GOP had picked up seats in the latest election so they were going for it further, squeezing the Dems out of the picture in their power grab - yes, just like the Dems might've done to them had they had the majority. (might've) - and so to protest the complete lack of fairness and proper procedure they staged a walkout, at that point the only recourse they had. Gov. Perry called in the Office of Homeland (in)Security to go after them.
