Have y'all heard that both parties of Congress have been in secret negotiations since '11 to put in place a economic New Deal, following the November elections. The Dems focused on cutting entitlements(sic-ain't nobody entitled to nothing, TANSTAFL), and the Reps focused on raising taxes.

Truth be told, the world economy, roughly speaking only amounts to about $55/60 trillion, while, as quietly admitted in the managed press earlier this year, February I seem to recall, that the outstanding derivatives amount to somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.2 quadrillion.

Even if we're only talking $600 trillion, some nasty stuff is going to come to bear, on all of us, in most of our near future.

Walker winning the recall, and his policies, are a minute corrective measure for collective bargaining deals that were financially unsustainable on their face when they were negotiated.

We have the same problem further east and of course San Diego and San Jose opted for belated financial realities.

peaceably,
