Re-Thuglicans?Do you people that think what happened in Wisconsin was some travesty of justice? Seriously? PUBLIC (employed by taxpayers...ie government employees) unions in WI got upset because they were required to pitch in a little more (for their own benefit) to shore up a monster public deficit. In the private sector (where I happen to work) we have always done this. It is nothing new. So why do the people I pay with my tax dollars and who are supposed to serve me, get something even I don't get? I'll tell you why. Democrat politicians make deals with unions and always have to get their vote. When times are good they promise public largess to government (and even private) unions. But times are not good and have not been for some time and we are talking primarily only about public employees this time. Walker never said anything about private unions. In fact, private employees are only about 6% unionized and most of them work for companies we also had to publicly bail out because they bleed their own companies dry. Many times to the point of extinction of their own jobs. Why is it so hard to understand that they do it to themselves?A state can't print money like Obama and the Bernanke and so the budget has to be balanced (unlike our current federal spenders apparently, because they just print more and don't give a damn about a budget) and the bills have to be paid at a state level. That means austerity whether we like it or not. The gravy train stops somewhere and in this economy, Walker made a bold and necessary decision. And the voters agreed ...twice. Not only that, but whoever heard of a recall based on policy alone? And especially something that mundane. Democrats lost twice in a typically democratic state and it sent a message that will light the conservatives on fire come November. It should have been obvious when Walker (and many other conservatives nationwide) took over a year and a half ago. If it wasn't then, it ought to be now.
