I agree in that we live in such a black and white - red and blue - world that the greys and the purples get lost.I don't think any of us really know how we'd react in a similar situation. On either side.The things that sway me, however, are 1) that the police dispatchers told Zimmerman NOT to follow. But he did. And, 2) I honestly believe that if had been a very white face in a hoodie, Zimmerman would have behaved differently.But he grew up in Florida. And probably wanted to be a "hero." (The culture in which we live.)These are the salient points for me. The first, especially. The second tragedy of this case is about the lawyers and the media.
