My point is that there really wasn't a totality... Most of Harrison's tunes aren't of a piece with the "Beatles"' work, be it their best stuff or their worst... Or his... "Here Comes the Sun," for example, is a great song, but it sounds to me like a Harrison tune, even though technically it's a Beatles' song...
"If I Needed Someone" or "Think for Yourself," to me, are more akin to something I would lump in with that "totality"... But from "Taxman" to "Within You, Without You," to "Piggies," and almost all of the rest of what Harrison was able to get out while a Beatle after the "Rubber Soul/Revolver" period, his songs sound somehow different. One might argue that he found himself as a songwriter, perhaps after India, or because the Beatles quit touring, in spite of the McCartney/Lennon ascendancy... Frankly, I love the artist Harrison was; I've just never much cared for "While My Guitar..." Similarly, if I never hear "Piggies" again, it'll be too soon...
My top five Harrison Beatle songs:
"Something"
"Within You, Without You"
"Here Comes the Sun"
"If I Needed Someone"
"Blue Jay Way"
