Of course my favorite summer reading is this here BB.

For the part three months I have been reading the books in the ENDER series.

It all starts with a great little gem of a book called ENDER'S GAME, by Orson Scott Card.

If nothing else I highly recommend this book and if you like it as much as I did there are several more books in the series that are just as good and continue to expand on the story laid out in Game.

The short synopsis is : Brilliant young child taken from his family and placed into a battle school to train for a looming war with the buggers.

This series is catagorized as science fiction, but I feel its far less about science fiction  and more about humans and their behavior and interaction.

Well played out themes of religon, morality, family and very difficult ethical choices are all addressed.

I read a review that said it well - This is a science fiction book for people who don't like science fiction.

I can't recommend this book highly enough.

The other all time favorite of mine is the now classic CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES by John Kennedy Toole.

It is the funniest book I have ever read. The authors suicide after being unable to sell it, and its subsequent publication and then it awarding of a PULITZER prize sjould be interesting enough for you to at laest give it a look.

Happy Reading

Roger
