I've met many non-radical (and really rather nice) Muslims, even in Saudi Arabia. People are people, and while I really dislike the religion and especially the Wahabi influence, I have personally seen several Saudis speak against Islamic terrorists. Where it tends to get hairy is, for example, support for resistance (or the type of resistance practiced) against Israel.

I really dislike the monolithic nature of religion in Saudi Arabia, though, even among the tolerant folks. The whole society, down to the carbon copy white and black clothes, feels oppressive.

One surprise, many Saudis I've met have an excellent sense of humor and don't mind at all letting loose with some ribald jokes about camel's milk increasing ardour. :-)
