White Man One

“…I think of Mount Rushmore and want to puke and choke out the current idiot espousing such bullshit. I see Mount Rushmore and think - here we have this fucking monument of white America, devised by a white supremacist for purely commercial purposes and built upon one of the most sacred sites to the Lakota, where no one white gives a shit what this says to another group of people who happen to be non-white.”

White Man Two

[Wiping an earnest tear from a weathered cheekbone] Heart rendering words, white man. I think of it too. & I know at least a half a dozen people who would be inclined to say the very same thing ..or very similar. & still the beat goes on. & on and on and on. La-di-da-dee-dee .. La-di-da-dee-da-ahhhhhh. For duality sake, though, I found myself (just for a moment, and the moment did not quite fade away) wondering: If it were my heartfelt idea to burn the flag in protest (for transgressions upon my best laid intentions by seeded gray-haired-n-perfect-suited-self-wealth-creators at the expense of ALL that is we, the people, of these United States), if it truly were my intent to burn the flag in dissent, would I opt to stage that flag burning in the courtyard of the local VA Hospital during recreation time for the paraplegic Veterans of Foreign Wars? ..Hmm, Probably Not. I might choose, out of common sense and common courtesy, to move my show of civil disobedience up the street to the town square beneath the ancient bows of the Ol’ Hangin' Tree. No point in stirring such woe in those Vets, therein their own particular life’s perpetual ground zero.

I don’t know. It is such a tough time to be ..human anymore ..here in the muddy middle distance… between fuck you! & fuck all!
