Talking point trigger?

I spent the week in Venezuela, and I haven't seen any "talking points" (haven't seen any TV news). Maybe something on the internet crept into consciousness, but not purposely. The oil well incident is a significant thing, but I think it's premature to put it on a tragedy level to which I'm seeing written here. This type of technical problem doesn't really call for an emotional response. It asks for an analytical response (and perhaps some improved regulation). It's a bad thing, but I've seen worse.
