Really? More than the Iraq War? More than the Taliban? More than 9/11? More than female infanticide in China? Excuse me for being so blunt, but please put things in perspective. This is a horrible occurrence, but it will pale next to things that happen every day in (pick your third world country or even in the US).

Many of the posts here strike me as a hysterical over-reaction, no better than the Glenn Beck-following idiots who think it was a result of environmentalist terrorism. (Really? They would cause that much damage to score a political point? I think not).

And for those who think BP or any other oil major would sabotage themselves toward what will be millions of dollars in payouts, even if they win some court cases, check your logic. It makes utterly no sense whatsoever, especially coming just after Obama authorized some additional offshore drilling. Today y'all are worse than was the dear departed Kent.
