The healthcare bill has been on shaky ground because the Obama administration did a shit job presenting it and then began gutting it and began wheeling and dealing trying to salvage "any kind of healthcare reform" once they knew they had really got themselves in a pickle.

How true - I've wondered why no one has cross tracked the favorable/unfavorable polls on health care by date with the bill's progress through the senate. I'd be willing to bet the favorable numbers downward slide roughly matched the dates of each 'revision' of the bill.
