Those are good points Peter. Obama has been subjected to right-wing criticism 24/7 since he took office a year ago. Rush Limbaugh's 'hope that he fails' statement early on could be the Murdoch machine's mission statement.

No matter which way he goes on anything they are prepared to pick him apart, and sadly, it's working as evidenced by Scott Brown's victory in MA.

Obama has so far not met my expectations, which were wildly unreasonable anyway, given the mess he inherited and the relentless negativity from the right. But he's done a good job so far.

Americans are an unusual people. Used to instant gratification, quick to anger, and with short attention spans. We really have no historical memory and we vote accordingly. Scott Brown is a pretty, telegenic face- an empty suit to be sure- but he's looks new, fresh- and therefore he must be better than the rest.

The Democrats are going to get the stuffing kicked out of them in the November election. It may be their own fault for not listening or not paying attention, but remember the voters- even the exceptionally intelligent and thoughtful voters of Massachusetts are fickle and fidgety. The 'fear and uncertainty' that everyone keeps talking about as the reason for Brown's election was manufactured and stoked by FOX News.

It worked.
