Hey mate, I'm not accusing you of being a Beverly Hills dilettante. I mow my own lawn too. But you
have to concede that there are many Americans who employ 'illegals' (it makes them sound so less
than human, don't you think?) to do just that, plus so much more.When's the last time you or anyone you know went out to pick strawberries or artichokes? (Well maybe
for fun but we're talking survival wages here ...) Do you really think the US agricultural economy could
survive without cheap labor.I just rebel at the hypocrisy that acknowledges the importance of, and accepts the fact, of 'illegal'
labor and then turns on these (literally) poor people and brands them as evil sucks for their own
political gain. And that's a lot of what's going on in this health care debate.Ever heard Woody's song, 'Deportees'?
