After an hour of liberal research, MJG, I was just about sold on your recommendation. Then I called up Best Buy. According to two stores, this model has gone obsolete and the Asus company has not been quick to get their updated models out into the marketplace, …so Best Buy isn’t stocking much in the way of Asus laptops except for their something-around-3-thousand-dollar model. So after researching other folky suggestions of HP, Asus and Del, it looks like we’re heading up to Best Buy in a while to have a good long look at their M-305 chassis (slightly smaller monitor) Toshiba with a more powerful dedicated graphics card than the 355 and about 4G. Unless another DBISer shouts FIRE real quicklike to Messy n his clutch who are still open to advice…as this is some tall-assed grass to trundle through. [“...through which to trundle.” ~~for you style proper buffs.]
