remastering, does not necessarily imply better mastering.  I think by and large it's a gimmick to get people to repurchase stuff.  Sometimes, I've encountered recordings that sound awful when they're remastered and end up preferring the original.   Funny, we had the same discussion on the Swervedriver site...

I was just listening to my original Beatles' Rubber Soul mono vinyl the past few days, and it sounds wonderful.  Not a thing I'd change about that one..
