Well, I think the topic has been pretty well covered by the time I felt lively enough to join in. (gut virus. nasty.)I know lots of people who will swear that "remastered" is just a codeword meaning "louder," and that "with bonus tracks" is code for "now including shitty tracks that weren't good enough to make it onto the album the first time."I'll just offer that the remastered ELO series is among the good ones. The sound is sweet to my ears, and the bonus tracks are, almost without exception, supercool to hear. Depending on which "era" of ELO you liked (if ever you liked one), you might start with "On the Third Day," or "Out of the Blue," or "Time."The APP remasters are pretty decent too, although they fall short (for me) in the "bonus tracks" department. But if you didn't have any Alan Parsons on CD before now, this would be a great time to pick up some, as APP has never sounded better since before I put my vinyl record player in the closet. I recommend the obvious starting place . . . "Tales."
