Hi--Well, this is a tough one because there are so many good places. I don't know where you are coming from--which direction. But right near the Opera House (all
nicely redone and a very good venue to see Ray) there's nothing right there but within a subway
stop or two there's some good sorts of low-priced options. There's a bar/restaurant called Silvertone on Bromfield Street.http://www.silvertonedowntown.com/It's funky, good enough food. You might want to call ahead. It's pretty popular.Even better for a quick, not pricey meal on the go is The Parish Cafe on Boylstonhttp://www.parishcafe.com/This place is a low-key place that has this cool thing where they have gotten chefs from a ton of the
big Boston restaurants--high end places--to devise a sandwich. They're inexpensive but gourmet.
I am partial to the Royal Regis myself. A kinda life affirming sandwich in these dark times. You might want to call them too. Also very popular--and with good reason.Further up Boylston there is a very good seafood --the Atlantic Fish, Company-- (lays Legal
Seafood to waste)http://www.atlanticfishco.com/It' just a couple of stops from the Opera House by the subway. Very good.If you're looking for a good Italian place--in the North End, there's a very low key (red and white
checkered table cloth lowkey) but excellent place--everything individually made and not pre-done
and frozen like so many places. It's called Pagliuca'shttp://www.pagliucasrestaurant.com/It's maybe a 20 minute walk from the Opera House but it's a nice walk since they've finally finished
the Rose Kennedy way where the express way used to be. Good food, nice folks run it. The
chicken campagna is way too tasty. If you're ever here and maybe want to spend a bit more, there's a place in Cambridge that is the
best.http://www.oleanarestaurant.com/Just amazing food. Probably my favorite restaurant around here. Nice but not pretensious in the
least. Also a bit more pricey but wonderful in Cambridge arehttp://www.harvestcambridge.com/http://www.chezhenri.com/So--that's a range of good places in a range of prices and styles.Have a great time. I am freely envious of you seeing Ray.
