why is 'beloved spiritual leader' any stupider than, say, 'beloved musical leader', which i would argue is
the position that db occupies here. i mean, he knows more about music than we do, so we listen and
learn. same principle applies to the Dalai Lama (unless, of course, you believe that the spiritual life is
just a theory).
remaining humble enough to be teachable is a great asset; as an old Chinese proverb says, 'he who
thinks he knows, doesn't know.' you might even say that, 'the more i learn i find how little i really
know'...
or you might not. i don't know. but sometimes Mick does.
