"A school near me demanded that a teacher take down her "impeach bush" bumper sticker, along with her calendar that featured some of the more humorous statements that our blunder in chief has made. It seems political opinions are not to be aired on campus." ----- I'm not sure it's so much of a problem except that it can be very unhelpful to a learning atmosphere to politicize a school that way. Especially since parents might be on any number of sides on the issues, the best course of action for a teacher is to restrict partisan political activities to their own time.

As an example, assuming you are a Democrat, how would you have felt if a Republican teacher used the school as a bully pulpit to criticize Clinton over the lying-under-oath issue?

Similar response to the "Buck Fush" button. It would fall under the general category of not wearing "distracting" clothing, etc. Our local high school banned the F.C.U.K. ("Cool as FCUK," and similar) t-shirts last year on the same grounds.
