Well, once again my alarmism goes unfounded. Getting through security at Fort Lauderdale was actually easier last night than I have experienced in quite some time. Courtesy, politeness, and efficiency were the order of the day. Hopefully next weeks travels will be as smooth.

For anyone taking to the air next week for Thanksgiving, leave yourselves a little extra time. While GWB has vowed to open additional airlines for commercial travel (which sounds really odd to me), most of the delays happen inside the airport. There are lots of rookie travelers this time of year who don't know the routine, which clogs security, checkin lines, and even baggage claim.
