I didn't find this post offensive as much as  flat out disturbing.  The nature of the crime, that is. There is also no doubt that when it comes to violent crime, black on white percentages far outweigh the reverse, and black on black is probably as high or higher.  And the point was?? ...  Was the crime racially motivated or a crime of hate?  I doubt it was the primary motive, but a collegiate looking young white couple must have seemed easy prey for the assailants.   The original motive (from what I have read in the Knoxville papers) was a carjacking.  Things obviously escalated horribly from there.  Yeah, I wish I hadn't read that post,  and I'm not sure it's the kind of thing I want to see/read on this site in the future.
