Really never heard them speaking out. So what did they find problematic with the Bill?
I can't speak for "they", I can only speak for me. First of all, I believe the "Wall" at the border is bullshit. Even Savage said "Turn off the magnet and the particles wont be attracted". That is the approach I believe in. What are we going to do, eventually start erecting walls within the cities like we are doing in Iraq ? We have laws and they need to be respected and the first place that needs to be inforced is with the people who employee illegals. Fake id cards ? These employers don't care, they are going to turn a blind eye regardless. Jobs Americans just don't want to do ? That's utter bullshit. It seems to me that we have labor laws in this country to govern a fair wage for everyone except the people who apparently don't have to abide. Level the playing playing field and see how many Americans want to work. The answer begins here at home. I'm sorry for the all the employers who felt they didn't have to play by the rules but they need to be cited. I don't have any predjudice toward these aliens, they just need to compete in a fair and legal market for jobs here. This would, of course, apply to government contractors who are competeing against business who play by the rules. It should be considered treason to beat American workers in a bid situation by using illegal labour. Hell, I think they should have to pay American fair wages in all the outsourced factories and cube farms. In fact, everytime I talk to a "support" tech, for any reason, I find out where they are located and I talk to them about the fact that they could ding their employer for a much higher wage if they would gather and stand up as one. ( and still be cheaper then Americans )
I beg to differ as I know there was a huge grassroots push to get this thing to fail. The Republicans that voted for it will suffer the consequences. Not here in Texas though.
There was a huge grassroots effort on the liberal side as well, you just didn't hear it because you listen to you're talk radio heroes.
.
Sounds like you were listening to Hannity (who is a kiss ass) or Savage(the biggest egomaniac).
I didn't hear a bit of Hannity ( would have turned it off ) but I did hear some Savage and I probably agreed with more then rest though I wouldn't make a habit of it.
That is an interesting take. I think it is an outlet for people who already conservative to vent their views
I think it's an avenue for conservatives to "get" their views. I actually heard one of these boneheads talking about how "talk radio" is a major target for terrorists. Geeeez, talk about a sense of over self importance.
I decided against this legislation without their assistance.
