Elliot Smith-New Moon-A double album of unreleased tracks intended for release before his untimely murder/suicide? The project was finished by Larry Crane the archivist for Smith's estate. It's a beautiful album

I do like Elliot Smith, though his voice is an "acquired taste" to be sure.  I love the droning type tunings/playing style of his guitar and ...great songs.  My older son Bryan introduced his music to me.

His death, likely suicide, was rather nasty.  Self-inflicted stab wound to the heart.  Ouch.  I'd prefer pills and whiskey if it was my choice, or doing my first and last free fall from an airplane, without a parachute, over that one... He had the usual tortured artist array of litanies...depression, drugs, alcohol, depression...rehab...untimely (or...in the case of tortured soul, that might be timely) death.
