PAT: Honestly Roger you can find Christian that interpret scripture entirely out of the mainstream. Coming to Austin was quite an eye opener. I've done the feel good churches. Been there and done that
The "mainstream" what does that mean to you ?? And you know that your way is the right and only way? You can prove that ?? What is it that Austin brings to Christianity that the rest of us are missing.?? And other phrases for "feel good churches" might be optimistic, open minded, celebrating the humans who make up the brotherhood of your church. Set yourself free from living in unreasonable fear.
Honest question Pat, is your faith of the fire and brimstone kinda thinking, with hard lines and one acceptable path to God?? Or does it take into consideration the human element. Does it take into account that all of the scriptures passed through the hands of man first? Are your Sunday sermons focused on the fear of crossing your God and the damnation of anyone not associated with your particular sect??? I guess I just can't get a handle on your mindset. And I am honestly struggling to.
