We all spend so much time trying to shake Kevin from his position, and it seems, to his credit and our frustration that he's unshakable.
I think the real issue is that, based on the last presidential election, more of us know whats at stake. Democracy. Even Kevin's single vote is important. The only way for a new President to be elected is if the numbers are overwhelming. If its another nail bitter, I am sadly sure that the current criminals in charge will find a way to take the office again (see electronic voting issues) Setting us all further apart from progress. Religious piety and fervor are NOT what I think of when I think of America. The current course will eventually inevitably lead to a Christian only America. Not very American is it? In fact its terrifying.
What about the world today, its delicate balance and our position as leaders? Its all in jeopardy. Like it or not the government seems out of the peoples hands. Self interest, special interests and large corporations are calling the shots for you and me, the individuals. I can't sit by quietly and watch it happen again.
Kevin, God bless you and your passion but your focus is so insanely narrow you cannot possibly see the larger truths. The biggest of these truths is that GW is nothing more that a figurehead. There is no denying that to me. If the two rocks in his head bumped together, he might be able to figure out how to do a beer bong without throwing up, but thats about the extent of his depth. Forget him, hes nothing. The real evil/danger is Karl Rove, and the puppet masters behind the GOP. They could give a shit about you, or me. Its a business to them. you and I are a commodity. Our opinions and beliefs don't matter, if there's not a profit to be mined. If left unchecked one day you'll be eating lunch at Halliburton McD's, or buying clothes from the Carlyle Gap.
Thats the cold hard truth. Again Kerry may not be the answer but I can only hope they show more respect to the people that make up this country and the world than the GOP has.
Just my opinion.
Have I mention, that as cranky as this board can be at times, I am insanely grateful for all the information and opinions that I find here. There is great humanity, humor and debate on all manner of topics and for that I thank you all. It probably helps that we're all not in one physical room, were we, I think there would be a body count. So David, Dan & Pat...Be extremely proud of what you've inspired and created.
