however, don't mean to rain on any parades, but there was an article in the Chron a coupla months ago, by a kid who worked in Hastert's office for the summer. he said that those hand-signed return letters were signed by interns most of the time. and they really don't pay that much attention to the mail they get. and if it's not from someone in their state or district, forget about it. goes right in the trash. like, you have to be a sizable donor to get their actual ear, cause one constituent ain't squat to them. maybe it was strategic article to lessen voter participation. maybe it was totally true. hard for me to say, cause i saw my pops respond personally to letter after letter after letter, but he only operated out of Sacramento, not Washington; volume of mail/time constraints difference no doubt in effect. with the Beltway swine, it's quite believable that they blow nearly all of it completely off, but that won't affect my interest in participation one bit, as my activist mantra remains the same: off with their heads.
